Reproductive and Sexual Rights remain controversial, as does intellectual property/technology transfer.
Universal Health Coverage itself isn’t overly controversial, but the strength of the language used is under threat. We’re trying to get a reference to the Rio Political Declaration on the Social Determinants of Health – which is quite strong, though not as strong as the Alma Ata 1978 agreement – added in the constant UN pursuit for “previously agreed text”. It has been quite a learning experience!
